Nathan Patterson is facing yet another spell on the sidelines for Everton after the Scotland star suffered a knock against Brighton.
Under pressure Toffees boss Frank Lampard watched his side fall to a damaging 4-1 defeat to the Seagulls to make it no wins in the previous five for the Chelsea icon. Reports suggest that the former England international looks set to be sacked on Merseyside, sparking questions about Patterson's future at the club having been developed well under Lampard.
But the 21-year-old's immediate status has been revealed as Patterson was forced off during the game on Tuesday, with the former Rangers star previously suffering from long-term injuries. He has played from the start in the previous four games but could only manage an hour and Lampard delivered the bad news on the star.

He said: "It's a knee injury and it could be weeks. Medial ligaments. We'll have to get it scanned but it looks like a medial [issue], which is not ideal." The former Ibrox kid had previously missed a chunk of the Premier League season through injury and will be hoping for a speedy recovery at Goodison Park.
