Frank Lampard has confirmed that Dominic Calvert is back in the Everton squad ahead of his side's clash with Newcastle United and has given an update on Ben Godfrey’s injury.
Calvert-Lewin played in the Blues’ last league game against Aston Villa in January but was not part of the squad for Lampard’s first game in charge against Brentford.
Though the Goodison crowd revelled in the 4-1 win over the Bees to set up an FA Cup tie with Boreham Wood in the fifth round, Godfrey ’s injury was the low point of the afternoon as the defender was forced off with less than 15 minutes played.
The Blues boss has given a full update on who will be available for tomorrow’s crucial trip to Newcastle, where a positive result will distance Everton from the drop zone.

“Dominic’s in the squad. Dominic’s been training for the last few days,” Lampard said.
“Ben [Godfrey] came back from his scan this morning and will be a four to five week injury, hamstring injury. We hope without any issues.
“[Abdoulaye] Doucoure is still three to four weeks away. Fabian Delph is four to five weeks away, to give you all the rundowns”
Though Godfrey’s injury is a blow for Lampard’s plans, the former Chelsea boss will hope Calvert-Lewin’s return can help maintain the momentum his side began to build at the weekend.
New signings Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek were in the stands for the win over Brentford and Lampard has confirmed that the pair will be available to face Newcastle.
“Yeah, they’re in the squad. I was pleased that they could see a performance like they did the other day and the way we want to go,” the Blues boss continued.
“They’ve been great in training, integrated on the training pitch and off the training pitch as lads. So it’s very important we’re a tight unit
“As the players showed the other day, there’s competition in this squad now, which is the only way it can be at this level, so it’s great to have them both in and they’re in the squad.”
