Frank Lampard eyes double Everton transfer raid for Chelsea stars amid Thomas Tuchel rebuild

Frank Lampard has reportedly been eyeing up a double transfer for two of his former Chelsea charges, with Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour reportedly being lined up for a move to Goodison Park.

The news was originally reported by talkSPORT last month, with it being said that the former Chelsea boss would be using his connections with his former club to improve his midfield after a difficult start to life on Merseyside. The Chelsea legend was able to narrowly avoid relegation with the Toffees, but will know that improvements will be needed ahead of next season.

It remains to be seen how much first-team football the Blues pair will receive under Thomas Tuchel next season after contrasting loan spells with Crystal Palace for Gallagher and Norwich City for Gilmour.

Gallagher enjoyed a brilliant debut Premier League campaign for surprise packages Crystal Palace under Patrick Vieira, scoring eight goals for the Eagles and earning a place in the England senior squad in the process. Meanwhile, Gilmour was unable to replicate his clubmate's success, struggling with Norwich as they were relegated from the top flight once more.

However, Gilmour is just 20-years-old and could see Lampard as a good mentor going forward having been helped into the Chelsea first team under him during the 2019/20 season. He remains a good prospect and has cemented his role in the Scotland team, but will be in search of regular first team football to maintain this status.

Daily Star journalist Paul Brown has spoken about the pair's future, addressing the Everton rumours and tipping them both to have a bright future in the game, he told GiveMeSport: "I know Everton have looked at both players.

"I think they've got very little chance of getting Conor Gallagher because Gallagher knows he'll get a chance at Chelsea.

"Even if he flunks pre-season under Tuchel, I suspect that Chelsea will try and get him into the team because they know he's an England international now, he had a great season at Palace, where he was their Player of the Year; he has massive potential.

"I only see him being allowed out on loan again if Tuchel decides he's nowhere near good enough to play in his team. And for me and most observers, that's clearly untrue. So, I think he'll get chances at Chelsea."
