Frank Lampard has been announced as the new manager of Coventry City.

The Championship outfit have appointed Frank Lampard on a two-and-a-half-year deal and announced his signing on Thursday.
Chelsea legend Lampard takes over Coventry with the football club sitting 17th in the league.
A statement from the club read: “Coventry City are delighted to announce the appointment of Frank Lampard as the club’s new head coach.

“The 46-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Sky Blues and will take charge of City for the first time this Saturday against Cardiff City at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
“Frank will be supported by two new coaches, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, who he has worked with extensively previously.
“Lampard has enjoyed an illustrious career in football, both on and off the pitch.”
Frank Lampard Returns To Coaching After 18 Months Out
Lampard last held a job in managed in June 2023, managing Chelsea on an interim basis for two months.
He took charge of 11 games in that period but only managed to guide the Blues to one victory.
The short spell at Stamford Bridge came after kept Everton in the Premier League, having managed them between 2022 and 2023.
Lampard’s appointment at Coventry also sees him return to manage in the Championship. Lampard’s first job in his managerial career came at Derby County.
