Franck Sorbier's Fall/Winter 2026-2027 presentation at Paris Haute Couture Week arrived like a love letter to wanderers of another century. Titled "Elsewhere Seekers," the collection turned the runway into a moving postcard, tracing an imagined journey through the golden age of travel. Set in the world of Paris during the 1900 Universal Exposition, Sorbier built a story around explorers, aristocrats, writers, and artists who cross paths at the newly opened Hôtel Regina before scattering across the globe in search of meaning, beauty, and each other.
The show did not simply reference travel, it reconstructed the feeling of it. Guests could trace the paths of these fictional voyagers through the Orient Express, aboard ocean liners like the Normandie and the Queen Mary, and along the ancient Silk Road, moving through Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, India, Vietnam, and Central Asia. Sorbier drew inspiration from the restless curiosity of Marco Polo and the fantastical worlds imagined by Jules Verne, treating every destination not as a checkbox but as a source of stories worth carrying home.
