FPL Gameweek 15 Tips: Pingreen Reveals His Top Picks

Fantasy football expert Pingreen is back with his Gameweek 15 FPL tips, which include his top captain pick – plus main defender, midfielder and forward to squeeze into your squads.

FPL Gameweek 15 Tips: Pingreen’s Top Picks

Hello, FPL fans! My name is Pingreen, and I’m here to share my top picks for Gameweek 15 and beyond, right here on SportsCasting. I finished 700th in the world in the 2022/23 season and ranked 1,330th last season, so you can trust my advice to be worth considering!

I hope you weren’t too badly affected by the chaos of the midweek benching’s. If you were, I also hope you didn’t get Mykolenko off the bench – because, frankly, I’d be bitterly jealous.

Captain Pick – Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) – EVE (A)

Condolences to anyone who still doesn’t own Mohamed Salah. Over the last four Gameweeks, he’s scored an incredible 48 points.

His numbers this season are nothing short of extraordinary. He boasts a 0.91 xGI per 90 minutes, contributing to a staggering 21 goal contributions in just 14 starts.

This weekend, Everton will attempt to contain him in what promises to be an exciting Merseyside derby. Given his form, it’s hard to look past Salah for the captaincy.

Defender – Trent Alexander-Arnold (£6.9m) – EVE (A)

Sticking with the Merseyside derby theme, my defensive pick is Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Trent has long been considered one of the best defensive assets in FPL thanks to his incredible attacking output, and he proved that again in midweek. After recovering from injury, he started on the bench but came on to register two assists in just 23 minutes against Newcastle United.

This season, Trent is averaging 0.36 xGI per 90 minutes – great numbers for a defender. Liverpool also currently boast the league’s best defence, having conceded just 11 goals all season.

Even though Everton are coming off an impressive 4-0 win against Wolves, they remain a good fixture for defenders. Fun fact: Wolves’ Craig Dawson is now Everton’s joint second-top scorer this season. He plays for Wolves.

Midfielder – Morgan Rogers (£5.3m) – SOU (H)

Some managers were tempted to sell Morgan Rogers after a run of blanks, but even before his midweek goal against Brentford, I thought this was a poor decision.

Rogers is priced at just £5.3m and, most importantly, has started all 14 of Aston Villa’s matches this season. He has six goal contributions in those starts – a solid return for such a budget-friendly asset. Regular watchers will also note how unlucky he’s been not to add even more.

This week, he faces Southampton. And honestly, I feel like I say this every week: Southampton concede a ton of goals and big chances. Do I really need to repeat it?

Forward – Alexander Isak (£8.4m) – BRE (A)

My forward pick for Gameweek 15 is Alexander Isak – arguably the best Scandinavian striker in the Premier League.

If Isak can produce a goal and an assist against the best defence in the league in Liverpool, there’s every reason to think he can do the same against Brentford.

The Swede is averaging 0.65 xGI per 90 minutes this season and has eight goal contributions in 12 starts. The absolute rocket he scored past Kelleher midweek will have given him plenty of confidence going into this fixture.

Brentford, meanwhile, have struggled defensively this season, conceding 25 goals in 14 matches. This game has the potential to be high-scoring, and Isak is well-placed to capitalize.
