Fox News Anchor Removed From Inauguration Duty Over Religious Tattoo

News Corp headquarters as Rupert Murdoch steps down as News Corp & Fox chairman

Pete Hegseth, a Fox News anchor and former Defense Secretary pick by President-elect Donald Trump, recently revealed that he was removed from inauguration duty in 2021 due to a religious tattoo he has. In his book 'The War on Warriors,' Hegseth shared that he had served under Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump, and his unit was assigned to work at President Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20, 2021.

During an interview with Fox News to promote his book in June, Hegseth explained that he was considered an extremist or a white nationalist by some leaders in his unit because of a religious tattoo he bears. The tattoo in question is a Jerusalem cross, also known as a Crusader Cross.
