Four things spotted in training as Liverpool player gets new look and Fabinho replacement trains

Liverpool are gearing up for their clash against Chelsea in the FA Cup final this weekend.

The Reds go to Wembley Stadium on Saturday to face Chelsea in what would be their second final meeting of the season. The two clubs met in the Carabao Cup final, which Liverpool won on a penalty shootout after the tie finished goalless.

Jurgen Klopp is likely to be without Fabinho for the Wembley showpiece. The Brazilian picked up a hamstring injury during the win over Aston Villa, and it’s not likely he will recover in time to feature on Saturday.

The Liverpool players have been hard at work in training at the AXA Training Centre. Here, we take a look at some of the things we spotted from the Reds’ latest session.

No Fabinho

As expected, Fabinho was nowhere to be seen in any of the photos taken at the training session. Given the injury he suffered in midweek, he will be on a recovery programme in a bid to get him fit as soon as possible.

Klopp is expected to provide an update on the midfielder’s fitness in his press conference on Friday. The boss will be hopeful that Fabinho will be fit in time for the Champions League final against Real Madrid in a little over two weeks' time.

Youngster included

With no Fabinho involved, that left a space free in the training session for one of the club’s younger players. In the Brazilian’s place was Tyler Morton. The 19-year-old is no stranger to the first-team environment, having already made a handful of appearances this term.

Whether or not Klopp feels that Morton is ready to be involved against Chelsea is another matter, there will still be several players ahead of the teenager in the pecking order. Regardless, the experience of training with the first-team will help Morton’s development even more.

Deep in conversation

Ahead of what is a big game in Liverpool’s season, Klopp and co are expected to be extremely focused on getting the job done against Chelsea on Saturday. With that in mind, the Reds boss was photographed giving out firm instructions to three players in particular.

Klopp can be seen giving instructions to Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota. All three will hope to be in the starting line-up at Wembley, so whatever Klopp was saying to the trio is likely to be very important.

New look for Adrian

It’s not a strange thing for a Liverpool player to turn up to training sporting a new look. This time, it’s the turn of goalkeeper Adrian.

Despite only making one appearance this season, the Spaniard is still hard at work in training. Adrian is sporting a new beard, while he enjoys a joke alongside team-mates Kostas Tsimikas, Sadio Mane and Loris Karius.
