Four people were taken to hospital after a tram and a Mercedes collided on Wednesday night (November 2). The crash, on Ashton New Road, near Velopark tram stop, caused huge delays for fans heading to the Etihad Stadium.
Tram services were immediately stopped between Clayton Vale and Velopark. Pictures showed fire crews at the scene, with the area taped off following the crash, which happened near the Asda supermarket.
It was one of numerous incidents on busy roads across Manchester on Wednesday night, with huge delays also reported on Mancunian Way and also Wilmslow Road, in Rusholme, after a crash.
