Four-star offensive line prospect Jaylen Gilchrist <a href=”https://x.com/247Sports/status/1819020277096837417″>plans</a> to announce his commitment on Aug. 3 at 4:00 p.m. ET. Gilchrist will decide among <a href=”https://ugawire.usatoday.com/2024/07/31/sec-football-recruiting-rankings-georgia-bulldogs-uga/”>Georgia</a>, South Carolina and Maryland.
Gilchrist took visits to all three of his top schools over the summer. Gilchrist, a recruit in of the class of 2025, plays high school football for Salem High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Gilchrist is ranked as the nation’s No. 91 recruit and the third-ranked prospect in Virginia. Gilchrist is the third-ranked interior offensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound interior offensive lineman has experience playing on both sides of the ball. Gilchrist has experience playing both offensive tackle and offensive guard at the high school level.

The four-star is currently projected to commit to the South Carolina Gamecocks, per 247Sports. The Gamecocks have the No. 31 recruiting class in the nation and have 18 total commitments. Gilchrist would immediately be one of South Carolina’s top verbal pledges in the 2025 cycle.
Georgia football and Kirby Smart currently have the No. 4 recruiting class in the country.
