Long Beach, California, experienced a series of violent incidents over the weekend, with four stabbings reported in a nine-hour period, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The authorities have since increased their presence in the area to ensure public safety.
The first stabbing occurred on Saturday evening around 6:20 p.m. in the 2000 block of East Pacific Coast Highway. A man was stabbed multiple times in the upper body following an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The suspects managed to flee the scene before law enforcement arrived. The victim was hospitalized and is currently in stable condition.
Shortly after midnight on Sunday, another stabbing incident took place in the 5100 block of Second Street in Belmont Shore. Two men were involved in a fight that turned violent, resulting in one of them being stabbed in the upper body. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, while the suspect fled before the police arrived.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., two women were admitted to a local hospital with stab wounds. The victims had been involved in a physical altercation with another woman in the downtown area. Both victims sustained injuries to the upper body but were listed in stable condition. Despite efforts to locate a crime scene, officers were unsuccessful.
The fourth stabbing incident was reported around 3 a.m. in the same location as the second stabbing. However, authorities believe the two attacks are unrelated. The victim, engaged in a dispute with a group of women, was punched by one suspect before being stabbed by another. The victim managed to transport herself to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the stabbings, including identifying the suspects and motives behind the attacks. Anyone with information related to these incidents is encouraged to contact the Long Beach Police Department to assist in the ongoing investigation.
