Four people injured after three-car collision on M8 motorway

FOUR people have been injured after a three-car collision on the M8 motorway.

Emergency services responded to the report of a multi-vehicle crash at junction 10 near Easterhouse, Glasgow at about 5.57pm on Thursday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it sent multiple vehicles to the scene.  

There were reports of four casualties at the scene. 

A SFRS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 5.57pm to reports of a three-car road traffic collision on the M8.

“We mobilised four pumps and there were four casualties.

“We don’t have any further details on the casualties.”

Two of three lanes at junction 10 were closed at around 6.19pm, according to Traffic Scotland.

The lanes were reopened at around 7.37pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6pm on Thursday, August 29, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving four vehicles on the M8 Junction 10 westbound which resulted in the partial closure of the westbound carriageway.

“A 59-year-old man and a six-year-old girl were taken to hospital in Glasgow.

“A 39-year-old woman was given fixed penalty ticket for a driving offence.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
