Four new cruise ships are coming to Norwegian, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas – details revealed

More ships are coming to Norwegian Cruise Line and its sister brands - (Norwegian Cruise Line)

Four new cruise ships are being constructed for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings brands, which will boost the choice for passengers across its luxury and family-focused brands.

Italian shipyard Fincantieri is building a new ship each for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas to be delivered between 2036 and 2037.

Each vessel will be a sister ship for soon-to-be launched ships from each cruise line, ranging from small to the largest ever for the cruise line.

The new ship for culinary-focused Oceania Cruises will feature a gross tonnage of 86,000 tons and capacity for approximately 1,390 passengers.

It will be a sister ship to Oceania Sonata, which is due to debut in August 2027 with a Mediterranean season that starts with a two-week cruise from Rome including stops in Catania, Italy, Valletta, Malta, Katakolon, Greece, Bar, Montenegro and the Croatian port of Zadar.

Another will be a sister ship to luxury brand Seven Seas Prestige, which will make its maiden sailing in December 2026 with a voyage from Barcelona to Miami.

The new ship will have a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons and around 822 cabins. It will be the fourth in the Prestige class

Norwegian Cruise Line has already revealed plans to build five new megaships as part of its largest ever class of vessels from 2030.

A fifth will now be delivered under the latest agreement with a gross tonnage of approximately 227,000 tons and capacity for more than 5,000 guests.

This is on top of the current Prima Plus class ships in development, with Norwegian Luna launching this year and Norwegian Aura in 2027.

There are now 17 new cruise ships on order across the three cruise lines.

These include eight for Norwegian Cruise Line, five for Oceania Cruises and four for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

John W. Chidsey, chief executive of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, said: "Together with Fincantieri, a trusted partner for decades, we continue to advance a disciplined approach to fleet growth that builds on the strength of our brands, defines the future of cruising and elevates the guest experience for years to come.”
