The landscape has significantly changed at Manchester United since the arrival of Erik ten Hag - but there is still plenty of work to be done by the Dutchman.
Ten Hag's appointment was always likely to spark a flurry of transfer activity. But the Dutchman's nightmare start to the season, where United found themselves bottom of the Premier League after defeats against Brighton and Brentford, saw the club accelerate their attempts to overhaul their beleaguered playing squad.
Although it's well-documented that United missed out on Frenkie de Jong, Ten Hag's primary target, the club did provide significant funds to enable their new manager to acquire the services of six new players before the September 1 deadline.
But while United were desperate to bring in new faces, the club also had designs on offloading a number of players who had become disillusioned with life at Old Trafford prior to Ten Hag's arrival.
A number of those stars, including Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani, became free agents at the end of the season and have already moved on to pastures new.
Eric Bailly was another player who moved on as expected after he was snapped up by Marseille on a season-long loan deal while Tahith Chong left the club to join Birmingham City on a permanent basis.

However, four disgruntled players who were earmarked for a summer exit are all still on the books at Manchester United.
Perhaps the most high-profile member of the quartet is Anthony Martial, who has been handed a reprieve by Ten Hag after impressing during pre-season. The French striker was farmed out on loan to Sevilla for the final six months of last season but is expected to feature prominently under Ten Hag once he returns from injury.
Donny van de Beek is another player who could be utilised more often under Ten Hag after the Dutch midfielder flourished under his guidance at Ajax - but the outlook for Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe is likely to be far bleaker.
Both centre-halves are yet to feature under Ten Hag, with a report earlier this month claiming that the duo had been 'kicked out' of the club's first-team dressing room in order to accommodate the club's new signings.
