Four players were missing from the opening day of Leeds United’s training camp in Spain, with Patrick Bamford in Germany for surgery on a minor groin issue. Illan Meslier, Junior Firpo and Kristoffer Klaesson were also absent from day one.
Goalkeepers Meslier and Klaesson have gone down with viruses. Neither stopper is expected to travel out for the camp, leaving Joel Robles and Dani van den Heuvel as the options between the sticks at Elche on Thursday.
Firpo suffered a minor groin strain on Friday at Thorp Arch, but after some treatment is expected to fly out to Spain for training before the Elche friendly. Luis Sinisterra and Stuart Dallas are with the squad on the continent, but not taking part in full training as they recover from their injury issues.

Bamford, who missed out on the last two games before the World Cup break with a hip issue, is in Munich for a procedure on his inguinal canal. United expect the striker to back in action as soon as the surgery wound has healed within two weeks.
Previous footballers to have the operation have been known to be running within five to seven days afterwards. Bamford is expected to be back well in time for the Manchester City match and could even play some part in the Monaco friendly.
