Four Leeds Rhinos players who stood out in pre-season victory over Bradford Bulls

Joe Gibbons
Many Leeds Rhinos fans may not know much about Gibbons. But on this evidence, they might be getting to see a lot of him in the not-so-distant future. The 20-year-old back-rower had an excellent game at Headingley, creating one try and scoring another to cap a man-of-the-match display.

Gibbons scorched through the Bulls defence to create Richie Myler's try just before the break then ran a great line to crash home from close range in the second half. Son of former Rhinos David Gibbons, he scored six tries in nine games for the reserves last year and was one of their top performers. He certainly did himself no harm here.

Jack Sinfield
From the minute he came on, Sinfield was making positive contributions to the cause. His short kick-off to restart the game landed perfectly and ensured Leeds got possession back, his cross-field kick a minute or so later for Liam Tindall was pin-point and almost resulted in a try and his clever pass created Gibbons' score. There is plenty of competition for places in the halves and Sinfield won't start the year first choice. But he's clearly developing as a player and will make a positive impact when he's selected if he performs like this.

Sam Lisone

If his first outing in Leeds colours was rusty, this was most certainly better. Lisone was slightly off the pace last week, not surprising given his disrupted pre-season and not playing since September. But this performance gave more assurances of his quality as he went on some rampant runs and showed some good qualities when passing the ball too. There's still work to do but he got a good number of minutes, 40 give or take a few, and will be much better off for it.

Morgan Gannon

Three games in and Morgan Gannon continues to show some promising signs in the halves. Naturally there are areas for improvement, with his short-kicking game one area where some development is needed. But his running threat is very dangerous and his ability to find space and pick when to run is very impressive indeed. His defence was excellent here too. By no means perfect, but there are positive signs.
