A four car crash has closed a busy road as Merseyside Police and the ambulance service attend the scene.
Police rushed to Wellington Road in Wavertree at around 2.45pm on Tuesday, July 12, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene, near Rexmore Way, officers found four cars had crashed into each other underneath the railway bridge and requested the help of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service.
Police closed Wellington Road in both directions as paramedics and firefighters work at the scene. When firefighters arrived all vehicles were on four wheels and the people inside were able to get out on their own.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "Wellington Road is currently blocked in the direction of Smithdown Road while the vehicles are recovered. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes where possible."
