The Belagavi City Police arrested four persons on the charge of hacking a young man to death in Ranakunde village a few days ago.
The accused are Pramod Shahadev Patil (31), Shridhar Sahadev Patil (28), Mahendra Yallappa Kangralakar (21) and Bomani Krishna Dokre (33).
They have been charged with killing Nagaraj Babasaheb Patil (30) in front of his house in Ranakunde village near Belagavi city.
Investigators said that the accused had conspired to kill the victim after he was demanding a loan that the accused Pramod Patil had taken from Nagaraj Patil’s father.
Pramod Patil got upset over such repeated demands and decided to kill him. He sought the help of his friends and hacked him to death. During the offence, the accused also attacked Nagaraj Patil’s brother and his mother.
Later, Police Commissioner M.B. Boralingaiah formed a team to investigate the incident. Officers found that the some of the accused were hiding in a village bordering Goa. A team travelled to the village and arrested the accused, a police officer said.
