A Missouri woman accused of handing a teenage girl to an acquaintance in Texas and taking a monkey in return will not spend a day in prison for what happened to the child.

Brenda Deutsch, 70, of Winfield, was sentenced at Lincoln County Circuit Court on Thursday, 3 September 2026, to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, and Judge Thomas Frawley suspended every day of that term in favour of three years of supervised probation.
