Xande Silva is set to leave Nottingham Forest this month as he is poised for a return to Greek football before the transfer window closes.
NottinghamshireLive understands the forward will join Greek top flight club Aris Thessaloniki with the potential for the move to happen in the next couple of days.
Silva has been a target for the Greek side for months, having enjoyed a loan spell there last season before joining Forest from West Ham late in the summer transfer window for a fee believed to be £200,000.
He has made just three appearances for Forest with the biggest stumbling block to his departure thought to be over whether a permanent or loan switch to Aris could be in the offing. It is believed Silva will now leave on a permanent basis.
Silva looked bright when he came on against Middlesbrough and Huddersfield Town last month, suggesting the player may be want to stay on having been given a chance by boss Steve Cooper.
However, Silva has been left on the bench for the last three games with Keinan Davis now taking a regular spot in the attack.
Forest are also pushing hard to sign another winger before the end of the month with bids made for Millwall's Jed Wallace and reports of offers for Blackpool's Josh Bowler and Derby's Festy Ebosele.
Fans are also hoping the Reds resist the temptation to sell Brennan Johnson with Brentford pushing hard to bring in the Wales international. Forest are said to be willing to consider an offer of £18m.
