The Fortnite Web Battles website is now live for players who want to get some in-game Spider-Man-themed freebies including emoticons, and Spider-Ham's Mallet Pickaxe.
The latest Fortnite challenges are based around the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie, ahead of the rumoured Fortnite x Spider-Verse crossover which should bring a MIles Morales skin to the game. The film will touch on the rivalry between Miles Morales' Spider-Man Miguel O'Hara's Spider-Man 2099, and the Fortnite Web Battle website is all about choosing a side.
There are new community challenges every day, with rewards doled out to the winning team daily. There's also a chance to scoop up any missed rewards over the course of the Fortnite Web Battle but you need to amass enough points to qualify. So if you fancy adding the Spider-Ham Mallet Pickaxe to your collection, spidey emotes, or sprays, you can get in on the action.

Fortnite Web Battles challenges
You'll need to log in to the Fortnite Web Battles website every day during the event to reveal the daily challenge, as the information isn't available to view in-game, and neither is the progress of the Team Mile and Team 2099.
Fortnite Web Battles are made up of five days of challenges. Each day players will be given a daily challenge to complete in-game. For example, Day 2's Web Battles challenge is to 'Deal damage to opponents, one point per 100 Damage'. Your progress in the daily challenge will result in individual points that are put towards your team's total.
The two teams' points are tallied over the course of the day, with the one amassing the most points being the victor for that day.
You can switch your team on a daily basis, but it has to be done eight hours before the end of a daily battle, so no being a sore loser and switching teams at the last minute for you.
The winning team for the day will earn either the Miguel's Glare Emoticon or the Shocked Miles Emoticon. You can read more on the available Fortnite Web Battles rewards and how to get them all below.
Fortnite Web Battles rewards
Competing in the Fortnite Web Battles can net you up to four possible rewards:
You can unlock the Spider-Man 2099 logo Spray just by logging into the Fortnite Web Battles website and choosing a team
If your team wins the daily Fortnite Web Battles, you'll be rewarded with the emoticon that represents your team, so either the Miguel's Glare Emoticon for Team 2099 or the Shocked Miles Emoticon for Team Miles.
You can unlock the Spider-Ham's Mallet Pickaxe and built-in Put 'er There Emote if you earn at least 40 points before the event ends. As an added bonus, you'll also unlock any any rewards you haven't earned yet.
If you've got your eye on the Spider-Ham's Mallet Pickaxe but don't earn enough points (or aren't interested in the Fortnite Web Battles) Epic says it'll be coming to the Fortnite Item Shop "at a later date."
