Fortnite’s latest update arrived this morning (Tuesday, March 26) with loads of new content for Lego Fortnite and Rocket Racing.
Epic Games also made some tweaks to its mainstay Battle Royale mode as players continue to explore its new Greek mythology-themed season.
If you’re away from your console, or just want a quick rundown of what’s new, we’ve listed all the additions below.
Fortnite v29.10 patch notes
Fortnite update v29.10 is officially here, and Epic has revealed everything that’s changed or been fixed in a series of patch notes.
Lego Fortnite Mechanical Mayhem update
Get ready to head back to your Lego Fortnite world as the best stuff has been reserved for the survival adventure mode.
Chief among the new goodies are drivable vehicles. Specifically, there are now three builds of cars with self-explanatory names that you can unlock and assemble, including a Speeder, an Offroader, and a Hauler. With its massive trunk, the latter should come in handy for moving your treasure chests to a new biome.
The update addresses one of the biggest gripes players have with the game. Until now, the only way to get around for less technical players was by foot or with a glider. Expert builders had crafted everything from railway carts to hot-air balloons, but they were prone to falling apart.
Creative types can also build their own vehicles using parts from the toys section, where you’ll now find a power centre, wheels and seats. You’ll also need a compost bin to turn your unwanted resources into clean fuel for your new motors – if only tackling the climate crisis was that easy in real life.
Here’s what else is new in Lego Fortnite:
- A wrench for assigning thrusters and boosters
- An illuminator to help light up dark spaces
- A new character called Oscar who’s a tiger in a suit
- Sweet and spicy desserts including spicy ice cream
- A new smart transfer feature for moving similar items to and from storage
- It’s now easier to tell when your constructs take damage
- 100 more Lego styles for existing outfits.
Fortnite Battle Royale update
We already got the drop on what Epic had planned for Battle Royale thanks to a bunch of leaks, which all turned out to be true. To sum up, the Battle Pass now shows the Korra quests and cosmetics that will be available on April 2. The Super Styles have also been revealed, along with the Nike Airphoria volume 2 items that will drop later tonight.

Epic has also tweaked Battle Royale’s gameplay to help balance things out for players. Now, snipers won’t drop as frequently, and will no longer drop as Uncommon or Rare. The Drum Gun’s damage and fire rate has also been increased, as has the Huntress DMR’s damage and projectile speed. The Chain of Hades is also more powerful when pulling targets, while the Frenzy Auto Shotgun's max effective range has been lowered.
Rocket Racing update
Rocket Racing has also received several updates, changes and enhancements. As a result, players should experience an improved feeling of skydiving in their cars. You can also apply a grey shader to other cars in a tight pack if you’re having a hard time keeping track of your vehicle.
Epic has also squashed several bugs that were affecting boosting, drifting, and driving out of bounds.
