The new Fortnite 23.30 update has gone live today, with Dragon Ball items and new reality augments featured in the patch notes.
Fortnite's second major update of the year, update 23.30, has been released today on all platforms, leading to some significant downtime. The server downtime is expected to last until 1pm GMT / 8am ET / 5am PT, but since this update is expected to be much smaller, we're hoping the game will be up and running again sooner than previous updates.
We've already seen a major Fortnite update in 2023 with patch 23.20, with the Falcon Scout drone and five new reality augments added to the game, and we also saw Deku's smash making a return. For update 23.30, there were multiple bugs in the game that required repair, in addition to new content. You can find the full patch notes on Epic's website but we've included them below so you can see exactly what's being changed.
Fortnite update 23.30 patch notes
The return of Dragon Ball
We'll be seeing two new skins launching today, with Son Gohan and Piccolo from the Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO movie hitting the digital shelves. Alongside the skins, matching cosmetics will be available too. For Son Gohan, you can pick up Gohan's Cape Back Bling, Gohan's Beast Axe Pickaxe and Capsule No. 576 Glider.
For Piccolo, you can get Piccolo's Cape and Turban Back Bling, Piccolo's Demon Symbol Back Bling, Piccolo's Handheld House Pickaxe and Red Ribbon Army Aircraft Glider.
We're also seeing fan-favourite items the Kamehameha attack item and Nimbus Cloud (Kintoun) mobility item come out of the vault, but these items are not included in competitive playlists.
New reality augments
There are five new reality augments in the game, they can be discovered immediately.
- Rift-jector seat: Anytime your Shield breaks, you’ll rift into the sky after a short delay.
- Shadow striker: Become able to get Shadow Bombs from containers.
- Icy slide: Get a brief icy speed boost after sliding.
- Harvester: Foliage you destroy will drop Big Bush Bombs and forage-ables. Also increases the effectiveness of eating forage-ables.
- Mythic munition: Obtain a Mythic Pistol.
Other Fortnite 23.30 changes and bug fixes
The Guardian Shield now blocks the Deku’s Smash ability.
Fixed the issue that caused us to disable the Party Time Reality Augment. This Reality Augment is now re-enabled.
Fixed some movement-related bugs.
Players can again Emote after a Victory Royale.
Players no longer take fall damage when sliding and using the Shockwave Hammer.
On touch devices, the Falcon Scout no longer goes up or down without players touching any button.
Wind currents will be disabled in Battle Royale/Zero Build for the duration of v23.30.
The Forecast Reality Augment has been adjusted to only show the next three Storm circles after being selected, instead of showing all future Storm circles.
