Fortnite got its second major update of the new season this week and along with some bug fixes, there are new chests in-game – dubbed Scout Regiment Footlockers – that hold Attack on Titan-themed Mythic Items.
Fortnite update 24.20 is the one we've been waiting for, rolling out the Mikasa and Levi skins in the Item Shop, and unlocking the Eren Jaeger Battle Pass missions which will nab you the titular character's skin alongside his squad mates. We've also got Attack on Titan-themed mythic items to get our hands on, with the ODM Gear and Thunder Spears.
And that's not all – Fortnite's Anvil Square is now home to the Jaeger's Family Basement POI which is tucked away and serves as a guaranteed spawn location for the Scout Regiment Footlocker. Scout Regiment Footlockers are special Attack on Titan-themed chests which guarantee a drop of one or both of the new Attack on Titan Mythic Items – the Thunder Spears and the ODM Gear. But there are other ways to get hold of them, so read on for more locations and how to use the items to complete the Titan Targets quest.
Where to find Scout Regiment Footlocker, Thunder Spear and ODM Gear
Sadly, there isn't a long list of areas that guarantee the appearance of a Scout Regiment Footlocker that we know of. The only 100% confirmed area we've found so far is the Jaeger's Family Basement POI. The basement is bound to be a popular area at the start of the game, so it's a gamble as to whether you'll actually be able to get the footlocker within unscathed.
Luckily, the Thunder Spears and ODM Gear items are part of the normal item pool, so there's always a chance to find them within regular chests across the map or just laying on the ground. We'd recommend landing at a hot zone – which is signified on the map with the area's name written in yellow text instead of white– as these have more chests than usual, and thus more chance to find some of these new items.
Unlike past anime-inspired items such as the Kamehameha and the Deku Smash, the Thunder Spears and ODM Gear have limited uses, so it's best to get the missions sorted out first before you have to find another one.
How to complete the Titan Targets Quest
The Titan Targets are marked upon your map when you hover over the quest in the Quests menu. They're mainly placed in the northwest section of the map between Shattered Slabs, The Citadel and Breakwater Bay. Once you arrive in the area you'll see a white exclamation mark icon on your minimap showing you the exact location of the Titan Target. You'll need to have the ODM Gear on you to complete this mission.
Once you've found it, equip your ODM Gear, aim at the target's neck with the left trigger or right mouse button, then hit the fire button to smack it. Do that to three more targets and you'll unlock the Titan Strike Pickaxe – you're one step closer to unlocking the Eren Jaeger Skin.
