Fortnite Save The World: How to pre-register and get rewards

Fortnite Save the World is finally going free-to-play, and Epic is celebrating with a big pre-registration event that’ll hand out free cosmetics and a Hero just for signing up.

The process of pre-registering only takes a minute and gives you an idea of how long you have or what rewards you actually get. So, here’s a step-by-step guide to Fortnite Save the World pre-registration, explaining all the community milestones and how the rewards will work for both new and existing players.

Epic has opened a limited-time pre-registration campaign ahead of Fortnite Save the World becoming fully free-to-play. By registering your Epic account on the official Save the World page, you help push global community milestones that unlock cosmetic rewards for everyone who signed up.

This is a one-off event tied to the free-to-play launch, so you won’t be able to claim these exact rewards later through the shop or quests. Even if you already own or have played Save the World, Epic explicitly encourages you to register so you don’t miss the freebies.

How to pre-register for Fortnite Save the World

Follow these steps to pre-register:

  1. Open the official Save the World page
  2. Go to the dedicated Fortnite Save the World site that’s hosting the pre-registration event
  3. Log in to your Epic Games account. If you don’t have an Epic account yet, create one by entering the required details
  4. Make sure the Epic account you’re logged into is the one linked to your PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, or PC profile where you actually play Fortnite
  5. Hit the “Register” button

You don’t need to install Save the World immediately for the registration to count, but you’ll have to play later to claim certain rewards as a new player.

As the total number of pre-registration increases, new reward tiers unlock for everyone who signed up. Here’s how the milestones work:

  • Milestone 1: 300,000 registered players will get Kyle’s Construction Spray
  • Milestone 2: 700,000 registered players will get a Jess-themed Banner Icon
  • Milestone 3: 1,000,000 registered players will get an exclusive Save the World Hero skin, Snowstrike Hero

The final milestone unlocks a unique Hero that is only usable in Save the World, and not in Battle Royale or other modes.

Rewards for new players vs. existing players

Epic is handling new and returning players a bit differently once the rewards go live. New players need to pre-register before the deadline using their Epic account. After Save the World officially goes free-to-play, download Fortnite, select the Save the World tile under the “By Epic” section, and start the mode.

Once you complete the opening tutorial and early onboarding missions, the unlocked milestone rewards will be granted to your account.

For existing players, you should still pre-register to receive the cosmetic rewards and Hero, tied to the same milestones. On top of that, Epic is granting a bundle of high-value PvE resources as a thank-you package when Save the World goes free:

  • 1x Hero Supercharger: Promote a Hero beyond Level 50
  • 1x Weapon Supercharger: Promote a weapon beyond Level 50
  • 1x Trap Supercharger: Promote a Trap beyond Level 50
  • 5x Survivor Supercharger: Promote Survivors beyond Level 50
  • 1x Hero Recruitment Voucher: Recruit a Hero of your choice
  • 1x Weapon Research Voucher: Unlock a weapon of your choice
  • 10000 Gold: Spend in the Event Store

Save the World free-to-play launch and timing

Fortnite Save the World will become free-to-play on April 16, 2026. Epic has stated that pre-registered players will receive their rewards around launch, with exact timing depending on whether you’re a new or returning player.

New players will get them after completing the tutorial, while existing players should see items delivered automatically when they log in during the launch window. In the meantime, do check the release date and countdown for Fortnite Showdown.
