A dedicated in-game experience is bringing Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang into "Fortnite" right as the movie makes its way to streaming.

The official "Toy Story" account confirmed the new "Fortnite" tie-in through a short teaser posted online, continuing a collaboration between the two franchises that first began earlier this year with the addition of Buzz Lightyear and Emperor Zurg skins. This latest push builds on that earlier crossover, expanding it into a dedicated experience rather than simply adding more cosmetic items to the item shop.
The partnership between Epic Games and Disney has grown significantly over the past year, with Disney investing heavily in a larger-scale joint project between the two companies that has continued rolling out in stages. Among the collaborations are the many Marvel IPs coming to the Battle Island, as well as other Disney characters.
Bringing "Toy Story 5" specifically into "Fortnite" lines up with that broader push, using the game as another platform to promote one of Pixar's biggest theatrical releases of 2026.

The new experience is expected to build on characters and elements introduced throughout the "Toy Story" franchise's earlier appearances in "Fortnite," including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Emperor Zurg, alongside the Little Green Men who previously joined the game as cosmetic Sidekick companions.
Given how "Toy Story 5" introduces new technology-focused toys into Bonnie's world, including a tablet character named Lilypad, the in-game experience could pull directly from that newer material rather than sticking only to earlier films in the franchise.
Past Disney collaborations within "Fortnite" have typically combined themed skins, back blings, and pickaxes with a dedicated island or limited-time mode built around the featured franchise. 'Toy Story 5' Arrives on Disney+, 'Fortnite'
"Toy Story 5" is set to begin streaming on Disney+ on September 23, arriving just over four months after its theatrical debut back in June. The film has become a massive success for Pixar, crossing $1.1 billion at the global box office and becoming the third entry in the "Toy Story" franchise to reach that milestone, following "Toy Story 3" and "Toy Story 4."
