Two men have been charged and refused bail after police seized eight-kilograms of the drug ice on the NSW mid north coast.
Detectives raided a house in Forster after two packages from Turkey were intercepted by the Australian Federal Police at a mailing facility in Melbourne in September.
"Both those packages were expected and found to contain what is believed to be 8 kilos of methylamphetamine," Detective Acting Inspector Gary Quilter said.
As a result of that intercept, police from the Manning Great Lakes District launched an investigation into the importation and supply of prohibited drugs.
Detectives raided a home in Forster yesterday afternoon and found two packages police allege contained ice, as well as cash, mobile phones and other property.
Police will allege the packages contained $4 million worth of ice.
Lucas Johnson Holloway, 29, and Luke Mansell, 22, faced Taree Local Court on Wednesday, each charged with large commercial supply of prohibited drug.
Detective Acting Inspector Quilter said the find, which was significant, was a one-off for the area.
"It's not too often you come across eight kilos of methylamphetamine, however eight kilos of methylamphetamine has an impact on any community out there within NSW," he said.
"It affects the health system, emergency services and it tears communities and families apart."
The matter will be next mentioned in court on December 21.
