After leading his high school team to a state title as the head coach, former Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater plans on making a return to the NFL.
“That’s the plan,” Bridgewater said on Tuesday’s edition of The Insiders. “My team knows that’s the plan. We wanted to win a state championship and then coach goes back to the league, see what happens, and then come back February in the offseason, continue coaching high school football. We’ll see how it plays out.”
The Vikings spent a first-round pick on the former Louisville quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons with the Vikings, two of which he started, but after a terrible injury, Minnesota moved on from Bridgewater. Before retiring, he would make additional stops with the Saints, Panthers, Broncos, Dolphins, and Lions.
But after leading Miami (FL) Northwestern to a state title, the 32-year-old veteran is itching to get back onto the field as a quarterback. He could provide instant leadership to whichever team chooses to sign him.
