Former US Rep. Mia Love, the first Black woman elected to Congress as a Republican, is facing an increasingly grave prognosis as her condition has worsened while fighting an aggressive form of brain cancer, according to her daughter.

Abigale Love, Mia Love's daughter, shared on her mother's X account that the cancer is no longer responding to treatment and is progressing. Love was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer in 2022, a condition with a challenging prognosis.
