Paige VanZant has hit back after her upcoming fight with Charisa Sigala was dubbed the ‘OnlyFans Championship’.
The iconic former UFC star will take on her fellow American at BKFC 27 London, in what will be her third bare knuckle boxing match. She is yet to secure that elusive victory in the Bare Knuckle Fight Club, losing to Britain Hart in her debut match, before being narrowly overcome by Rachael Ostovich in her second fight, reports The Daily Star.
But while many are eagerly awaiting to see if VanZant can break her bare knuckle duck, the well-matched fight has been dubbed 'The OnlyFans Championship fight,' as both VanZant and Sigala post pictures to their OnlyFans accounts. However, When asked about this, a defiant VanZant chose not to respond to the fight’s nickname.
“I don’t know if I have a reaction to that," VanZant said in an exclusive interview with Daily Star Sport when asked about the 'OnlyFans Championship tag'. "I mean, you have to understand that both my opponent and me are two females doing what a lot of people cannot do.
“You know, 99.9% of the world would never have a boxing match, let alone a bare knuckle boxing match. So, we are doing something nobody else can do.
“I see it as ‘I’ve been extremely successful in a lot of things, and there is a reason that I choose to fight. I get to make it a choice.
“A lot of people have to do these things, they have to wake up and go to work. But I get to do whatever I want, because I have been extremely smart financially.
“I am really lucky that I get to go out and do what I love.” Both VanZant and Sigala charge OnlyFans subscribers around $9.99 (£8.19) per month and also post audacious photos to their humongous Instagram followers.
VanZant has around 3.3million followers on Instagram, while Sigala’s has a significantly more modest but still sizeable 91,900 followers. But their followings will not matter when they both step into the ring at the OVO Arena.
