Former Sen. Kelly Ayotte is making headlines as she runs in one of the top gubernatorial elections in the country, throwing her support behind former President Trump's bid to return to the White House. Ayotte expressed her belief that the nation needs a change in direction, citing concerns over rising costs and decreased safety under President Biden's administration.

Ayotte, who withdrew her support for Trump in 2016 due to the 'Access Hollywood' controversy, is now back in his corner, emphasizing the need for a different approach. Despite her previous stance, Ayotte has aligned herself with Trump, highlighting his vision for the country's security, freedom, and tax policies.

Having announced her gubernatorial bid nearly a year ago, Ayotte is positioning herself as a frontrunner in the GOP primary in New Hampshire. However, she faces criticism from rival Chuck Morse, who questions her conservative credentials and past policy decisions.

While Morse has endorsed Trump and challenged Ayotte's support for the former president, Trump has remained neutral in the New Hampshire gubernatorial race. Ayotte expressed openness to a Trump endorsement but emphasized her focus on earning the support of New Hampshire voters.

Ayotte also commended Gov. Chris Sununu's leadership and expressed her intention to continue his successful path for the state. She highlighted her commitment to protecting New Hampshire's laws, including those related to abortion, pledging to veto any restrictions to the current state law.

In the midst of her campaign, Ayotte has criticized her Democratic opponents, Mayor Joyce Craig and Councilor Cinde Warmington, for their differing vision for New Hampshire, contrasting it with what she sees as the successful model under Gov. Sununu.

As the gubernatorial race in New Hampshire heats up, Ayotte remains focused on engaging with voters and building on the state's progress under current leadership. With the primary election approaching, the competition between Ayotte and her opponents continues to intensify.
