Around 220 new homes are planned on the site of a building supplies store that moved out of Bedminster last year.
The Selco building supplies building, next to Lidl off Sheene Road, has been bought by The PG Group, the development firm behind the controversial Carriageworks redevelopment on Stokes Croft.
The PG Group said the project to demolish the old warehouse store, next to the railway bridge in the heart of Bedminster, is its biggest project to date.

The firm said the plan was for 220 flats with one, two and three bedrooms, which would all be classed as 'affordable'.
A spokesperson for The PG Group said: “With Sheene Way set to be our biggest project yet, the site acquisition marks the next step for The PG Group, allowing us to build on our rich history of residential developments through new challenges, evolution and growth.
“We can’t wait to work with the wider team over the coming months as we work towards achieving permission on this landmark site."
Selco moved out of its location in Bedminster to a new store at the Caters retail and industrial estate in Hartcliffe in November 2020.
The 220 homes would be the latest development in the area near the railway line in Bedminster - at the other end of Malago Road from the Bedminster Green regeneration scheme.
So far, 1,333 new homes - including 837 student units - have been given permission at Bedminster Green, with two of the five sites still yet to be given planning permission.
