Former RTE star Eoghan McDermott is set to return to voiceover duties for season four of Love Island Australia at the end of this month.
The Limerick star narrated Love Island for two consecutive years from 2018 to 2020, before he was replaced by Cork comedian Stephen Mullan. Mr McDermott disappeared from the popular reality show in 2021 after being wrongly accused of sexual misconduct.
A spokesperson for Love Island Australia confirmed that Mr McDermott is returning for voiceover duties the upcoming fourth season of the reality show, which is presented by Sophie Monk. “Eoghan will be narrating this year's upcoming season of Love Australia,” they told Independent.ie

In February 2021, Eoghan McDermott also departed from his role on RTE 2FM's breakfast show, which he hosted alongside Doreieann Garrihy. In March 2022, Mr McDermott took to social media to post a letter from a solicitor that acknowledged "false allegations" made against him on Twitter.
He said: "A few months ago, false allegation were made against me. Despite not being investigated or verified, these allegations were spread widely, the effects of which I am still processing.
“I hope the below can close this chapter. At the request of and with consideration for the other party to this dispute, I will not be commenting any further on this matter.”
The fourth season of Love Island Australia airs from October 31.
