A fire at a former funeral parlour in Redfield is believed to have been started deliberately. Avon Fire and Rescue Service were called to the blaze on Church Road at around 7.30pm yesterday (June 25).
Crews from Temple, Kingswood and Portishead arrived to find the building alight. They used high pressure hose reels, jets and a turntable ladder to fight the flames.
The road was cordoned off as the emergency services extinguished the fire. In a recent statement, the fire service have confirmed they believe it was started on purpose.

It is the second time the building has been set alight over the last month. Firefighters also rushed out to the area on June 4.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 19:30 on Sunday 25 June to reports of a fire in a building on Church Road, Redfield.
"Firefighters from Temple, Kingswood and Portishead attended the scene and found a derelict building alight.
"Crews used two high pressure hose reel, three jets and one turntable ladder to extinguish the blaze. Four firefighters wore breathing apparatus for safety.
"The drone team from Portishead were also in attendance and use the drone to carry out checks and monitor the building.
"The cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate."
