Former Rangers star Josh Windass in eight word response to delightful lob as striker's celebration rinsed

Former Rangers forward Josh Windass continues to impress for Sheffield Wednesday but the striker took some stick for his most recent celebration.

The one-time Light Blues attacker has now notched 14 goals and seven assists to date with a memorable double in the FA Cup against English Premier League high-flyers Newcastle United setting the tone for a superb run of form. And the 29-year-old was on fire again when after just nine minutes he broke through against MK Dons and delivered a delightful lob.

It was a goal fest at Hillsborough when Darren Moore's men ran out 5-2 winners to remain top of the English League One and the Englishman was delighted with how his side showed up - particularly with Windass' showing.

The gaffer said: "What was pleasing was after starting the game and getting knocked back with an excellent goal, we got back in it.

"Their second goal was a lapse in concentration. It was a gift to give them but it was a tidy finish by the boy (Eisa). Believe it or not I wasn't throwing teacups at half-time. I said to the lads 'come on' and I said we had to clean up our work and have a bit more concentration and be abit more forceful second half.

"And that's exactly what we got. We put more bodies in the box, put more thought into crosses and thought the sustained pressure told. In the end, we cracked the nut and got the points."

Windass himself enjoyed the win, taking to Instagram after the game to say: "Me and my boys running riot at Hillsborough.”

Yet the attacker was rinsed by ITV's official Twitter account as their caption read: "But what about the celebration, Josh Windass?" One Owls fan floated the idea that it was a tribute to former Hearts man Callum Paterson.
