Former Rangers star has contract 'cancelled' by Blue Brazil on transfer deadline day

Former Rangers midfielder Kyle Hutton has had his contract at League Two club Cowdenbeath 'cancelled' by mutual consent.

The 30-year-old from Cambuslang has made 25 appearances for Maurice Ross' side this term but wasn't in the squad for Saturday's win over Albion Rovers.

Now Hutton has departed the Blue Brazil after finding games in recent weeks harder to come by. They are bottom of League Two.

Hutton initially joined Cowdenbeath on loan last year from Lowland League side East Kilbride and has been a regular for most of this season.

He will look to seek a new challenge.

After spending the first five years of his career at Rangers, Hutton joined Queen of the South in 2015.

Since then, the midfielder has turned out for Dumbarton, St Mirren, Airdrie and East Kilbride.

A statement reads: "Cowdenbeath FC can confirm that Kyle Hutton’s contract with the club has today been cancelled.

"In the last few weeks Kyle has not been a regular in our starting line-up and he therefore wished to move on."
