Former Rangers star Abdallah Sima excluded from Brighton's Premier League opener

Abdallah Sima failed to feature in Brighton's squad for their opening match of the English Premier League season.

The Seagulls are now managed by Fabian Hürzeler, who evidently showed where Sima stands in his pecking order by omitting the 23-year-old from his 20-man roster against Everton on Saturday.

Sima is currently in the final year of his contract with Brighton, raising questions about his future with the club.

Speaking about the chances of bringing the striker back to Glasgow, Rangers' Philippe Clement recently admitted a permanent move wasn't financially possible at this stage.

“I’ve been in touch with him, of course," the Rangers boss explained.

"He’s like one of my sons. Abda loves the club. He loves our way of playing we had last season and his role in that. He loved his team-mates and the staff.

“But at the end of the day, Brighton is the owner so it’s all about the money then. At the moment it’s not possible.

“But we will see along the way if there comes a possibility because we would love to get him back.”
