During a campaign rally in Wisconsin on Tuesday, former President Barack Obama announced that he had cast his ballot. Obama, who made an appearance at the Madison rally following Democratic vice presidential nominee Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, revealed that he had voted by mail in Chicago the day before. The rally in Wisconsin was held to commemorate the beginning of early voting in the state.
Addressing the crowd, Obama urged people not to wait to vote, sharing his personal experience of voting by mail. He recounted how he received his ballot, filled it out, sealed it, signed it, and then decided to walk to a mailbox to send it. Despite the concerns of the Secret Service, Obama emphasized the importance of taking the opportunity to vote.
Obama's speech at the rally began with an apology for his tardiness, explaining that he had chosen to drive to Wisconsin from Chicago instead of flying due to an issue with his plane leaking oil. He encouraged those in attendance who had not yet voted to do so, even jokingly stating that he wouldn't be offended if they left the rally immediately to cast their ballots.
