The former owner of a popular Edinburgh pizzeria who recently took a step back from the business has announced an exciting new eatery on one of the capital's busiest streets.
Pizzeria 1926 on Dalry Road recently changed owners at the start of the year as they issued a heartfelt 'thank you' post on Instagram which received over 1,000 likes.
As the owner kept the same account to update followers on his latest and upcoming ventures, a recent post hinted towards a new restaurant on Leith Walk. Similarly, a planning application has now been submitted to the council which would see number 148-150 Leith Walk, at the Red Sandstone Building, transformed into a new restaurant.

A planned opening date for the restaurant, set to be named San Ciro's, has been set for August, with a recent post on the former Pizzeria 1926 Instagram account reading: "Call all people of Edinburgh, and maybe a bit further: we are expecting to open for the start of August and are now on the lookout for staff."
Pizzeria 1926 was known for its authentic Italian food and for the owners' obsession with Naples and footballing legend Diego Maradona with several shirts and merchandise decorated around the restaurant.
