Liverpool found out their opponents for the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
The Reds will take on Derby County at Anfield, after the draw was made following the conclusion of the second round ties. Jurgen Klopp’s side will take on the League One outfit in the week commencing November 7.
Due to the congested fixture schedule and the mid-season break for the World Cup, the third round will take place later than its usual September slot. After the draw was made, a famous fan of Liverpool’s opponents reacted to the draw.

Niall Horan, a former member of the boyband One Direction, is a dedicated fan of Derby. When the League One club posted about facing Liverpool in the next round, Horan couldn’t resist making a comment.
“We’re Concentrating on the league anyway,” Horan wrote on Instagram, followed by a laughing face emoji. Derby beat Championship side West Brom to set up a tie against Liverpool.
Liverpool will take on Derby as defending champions of the competition. The Reds beat Chelsea at Wembley Stadium in the final back in February to win the trophy for a record ninth time.
The last time Liverpool faced Derby was also in the third round of this competition back in 2016. Goals from Ragnar Klavan, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi secured a 3-0 victory at Pride Park.
