Former Olympiacos boss Pedro Martins is reportedly a 'strong contender' to become the next Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach after they parted ways with Bruno Lage.
Less than 24 hours after their 2-0 defeat by West Ham United, Lage has become the third Premier League manager to be sacked this season following Scott Parker at Bournemouth and Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. After a fourth defeat so far this campaign, Wolves sit just two points ahead of Nottingham Forest in the league table, having played one match more ahead of Monday night's East Midlands Derby against Leicester City.
With reports that a new manager will be appointed this coming week ahead of another trip to the capital, this time to face Graham Potter's Chelsea, names are already being linked with the newly-opened vacancy. One of those will be particularly familiar to Reds and Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis as well as his son, Miltiadis.

Martins was replaced as boss of the perennial Greek champions on August 1 by former Huddersfield Town head coach Carlos Corberan, who has since been sacked and now Míchel is their current incumbent. The Telegraph report that Martins 'is likely to emerge as a strong contender' at Molineux.
Should the Portuguese coach end up replacing Lage, then the Marinakis family could be in for a reunion with Martins in a fortnight's time. Forest face Wolves in what is anticipated to be the new manager's first home match in charge on October 15.
