Amir Riep, a Cincinnati, Ohio, native, started his college football career by realizing a dream come true as an Ohio State Buckeye. That dream quickly turned into a nightmare in February 2020 when Riep and teammate Jahsen Wint were dismissed from the team after facing serious charges.
The legal process can be painfully long, and almost three years after being taken into custody, Riep and Wint were found not guilty and acquitted of the charges in January of this year.
Both young men made it known they would like to continue their athletic careers after being unable to finish in Scarlet and Gray. At least one will get to continue that dream. Amir Riep announced he will play for Lincoln University in the fall.

Lincoln University is located in Oakland, California, and launched an athletic department in 2021. Lincoln is not a member of the NCAA but will play a full football schedule in the fall with opponents ranging from Football Championship Subdivision schools to Division II schools and even an NAIA program.
The former Buckeye who is 24 years of age will look to help the Oaklanders as they look to get their footing as a fledgling football program.
