Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix had his first win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, and he opened a lot of eyes to spectacular playmaking after two subpar weeks against Pittsburgh and Seattle.
Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Tim Jenkins pointed to a specific play from the 26-7 win that showed Nix’s pocket presence. It came in the third quarter of the game, in the midst of the Broncos’ longest drive.
Jenkins breaks down the play: Nix ran a play-action fake and then rolled out while being (seemingly) unaware of blindside pressure. Fans everywhere watching the live action likely closed their eyes in despair, only to have Nix pull the ball down, escape the pressure and run for 22 yards.

“(Nix) generates a [22]-yard scramble because he’s got eyes in the back of his head,” Jenkins says in the video. “You cannot coach feel like that. Big-time stuff from the rookie quarterback.”
This type of play flashes back to a familiar face for Broncos fans: John Elway, who always seemed to miraculously escape pressure. Broncos Country can hope that this type of play continues this upcoming Sunday against the New York Jets.
