Frank de Boer says Wout Weghorst is "loved" by managers for two aspects he brings to his game.
The attacker has played six matches since his January arrival at Manchester United, scoring once against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup semi-final first leg. Weghorst has enjoyed 439 minutes of action amid Anthony Martial’s persistent injury problems.
The Dutchman, who is on loan from Burnley until the end of the season, has been praised for his selfless contribution to the team cause by showing a willingness to press and hold up the ball for teammates.

Countryman De Boer has been impressed with his output at Old Trafford so far, and said he is a popular figure at every club he plays at due to his defensive work and great efficiency.
“He [Weghorst] has qualities that others can benefit from,” he said as per FC Update. “Sometimes strikers are very selfish, but he does so much defensive work. He knows his qualities. That’s why he is so loved by coaches.
“His efficiency is incredibly high. Everyone knows that the Premier League is the competition with the highest level and fantastic central defenders.”
Weghorst was taken off just before the hour mark in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace. Erik ten Hag explained that he swapped him for Alejandro Garnacho - who was later himself taken off - due to tactical reasons and was rewarded when Marcus Rashford fired home United’s second three minutes later.
He said: “[Weghorst] was strong in putting pressure, in being a point of contact. We were able to continue playing through him. Only at a certain point do you switch tactically.
"To put an opponent who has focused on Weghorst against a different type of player, I think it had an immediate effect.”
