Former Navy Chief Admiral L. Ramdas no more

Navy CNS Hyderabad Secunderabad the Indian Navy

Former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Laxminarayan Ramdas (90 years), passed away at the Military Hospital, Secunderabad here on Friday.

According to Sagari Ramdas, second daughter of the late Admiral, he was admitted into the Military Hospital, Trimulgherry at Secunderabad on March 11 and passed away peacefully this morning at 6.25 am.

He is survived by wife Lalitha Ramdas, daughters – Kavitha, who stays in the USA, Sagari, who resides in Hyderabad, and Mallika, presently residing in Singapore, their spouses and grandchildren. All the daughters were in the city keeping in view the ill health of Admiral Ramdas. The former Naval Chief had moved from Alibag in Maharashtra to Sainikpuri to stay with his daughter Sagari last year.
