Former Nato adviser says Vladamir Putin is exhibiting symptoms of Parkinson's disease

Former government defence and Nato adviser Professor Gwythian Prins has said that Vladimir Putin is showing signs of early Parkinson's disease.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, he told presenters Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard that he has been "persuaded by a lot of medical advice that he is an ill man and the most persuasive diagnosis is that he has early Parkinsonia".

The response came after the defence expert was asked whether Putin needed "another way out" of the war with Ukraine, amid increasing reports that the Russian invasion has stalled on many fronts. The latest Ministry of Defence update states that the Russian invasion of Ukraine has largely stalled "on all fronts" and Russian forces have made "minimal progress" and continue to suffer "heavy losses".
