Back in 2024, the motorcycle racing community held its breath as former WorldSBK champion, 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, and TMT MotoGP pundit Sylvain Guintoli stepped away from our screens. We didn't hold our breath because he was gone, but rather because he left to look after his son, Luca, who had been diagnosed with cancer.
When we released the breath trapped in our lungs, it came with a quiver at the news that Luca had passed away on July 30, 2025, at just six years old. Since then, Guintoli has plowed full steam into raising money for the Luca Guintoli Foundation, which promotes and protects the physical and mental health of children who have autism or cancer. The foundation aids families in England and Wales through the provision of financial assistance, support, education, and practical advice.
