Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has hit back at the criticism he received for calling France and Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga a "d*** face" during Argentina's World Cup celebrations.
Lionel Scaloni's side won a breathtaking final on Sunday afternoon at the Lusail Stadium as the South American side claimed victory in a penalty shoot-out following a pulsating 120 minutes of football. Aguero was watching on as Argentina sealed their third World Cup trophy, but the former City forward made it off the sidelines to join in with the full-time celebrations.
The scenes of jubilation were clear to see on the pitch, yet it was the actions of the 34-year-old within the dressing room that landed him in hot water. Aguero, who was forced to retire last year after suffering from a heart arrhythmia, faced criticism for singing about Camavinga during a video that the former Blue streamed on his Instagram account.

However, Aguero has now brushed off the backlash, insisting that there is no problem between himself and the 20-year-old midfielder, claiming the song that referred to the Real Madrid man as a "d*** face" was just a "joke".
Taking to social media, he tweeted: "Hee . Let's see first I have nothing with him and Second it's a party joke. Also if you search on stream he always joked with his name. Don't look for problems pa."
Although Aguero has not been able to play with his compatriots, he has been there every step of the way on their journey to World Cup glory. The Argentine was even seen banging a drum on the pitch at full-time on Sunday, before he hoisted long-term friend Lionel Messi onto his shoulders in tribute to the Paris Saint-Germain star.
There had been speculation that Messi was to retire now he had his hands on the elusive trophy, yet the former Barcelona star was quick to deny those rumours.
Speaking after the game, he said: "It’s simply unbelievable. I knew that God was going to give me the Cup, I was sure — it was a big joy for us.
"I had this big dream for a long time, I wanted to close my career with a World Cup. I can’t ask more than this. No, I’m not going to retire from the national team. I want to keep playing as World Cup champions with the Argentina shirt."
