Former luxury £800k home hits market - but comes with health warning for buyers

A once luxurious eight-bedroom home is set to go under the hammer, although buyers beware as it has been issued with a health warning.

Developers interested in the three-storey detached property in Meadow Road in Harborne, Birmingham, are advised it needs a “complete renovation”.

As well as a health warning, it also comes with extensive land to the side and rear which could be developed.

It will have a guide price of £795,000 when it goes under the hammer on Thursday, March 30, Birmingham Live reported.

Jonathan Hackett, consultant director at Bond Wolfe, said: “This substantial freehold property is a former luxury family home now requiring carefully planned renovation or redevelopment but it has great potential for the right buyer.

“On the ground floor is a porch, reception hallway, three reception rooms, a bathroom with no fittings, a separate toilet and wash hand basin, a dining kitchen and an inner hall leading to a garage and basement.

"On the first floor is a landing and five bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom that has no fittings and one with a dressing room plus a further bathroom with no fittings, a study, toilet and boiler room with no fittings.

“There is then a landing with three more bedrooms and a bathroom with no fittings on the second floor.

"The house stands back from the road behind a driveway and front garden with overgrown land to the side and rear that extends to around 0.4 acres and contains a dilapidated brick building.”

The Harborne property will be among 186 properties appearing at Bond Wolfe’s next auction.

Bond Wolfe said: "Due to the condition of this Lot, the auctioneers advise that appropriate clothing and footwear should be worn when viewing the property and a torch may also be required.

"Viewers must take extreme care and access is at the viewer's own risk.

"The Auctioneers accept no responsibility for any accidents or injuries."
