Former Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson - (PA)

Former Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson and the city council’s former deputy leader Derek Hatton have been charged with bribery and misconduct relating to council contracts.

Merseyside Police named them as among 12 people charged with offences of bribery and misconduct “following an extensive investigation connected to the awarding of commercial and business contracts from Liverpool City Council between 2010 and 2020.”
